Description
The work proposed herein can be divided into three primary tasks: pre-qualification testing, AIAA S-111A qualification, and AIAA S-112A qualification. Each of the AIAA qualifications can be split into three separate sections: qualification tests with pass/fail criteria, characterization tests used to estimate properties and degradation of cells and panels over a given mission, and a quality report detailing how the cells/panels are produced and results of a failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA). Prior to commencement of the qualification tasks, the design and fabrication of the space solar cell and panel must be frozen and documented. As required by the AIAA standards, MicroLink uses an audited ISO9001 quality control system. MicroLink maintains a Documentation Management procedure within its Quality Management System that provides detailed steps and review and approval of controlled documents as well as customer review and approval when applicable. Upon freezing of any cell or panel design, MicroLink will generate reports documenting the performance and reliability of the design such that any parts tested during qualification can be verified as equivalent to standard production and vice versa. Such reports will be supplied to the AF and end-users prior to commencement of the qualification effort.
