Description
This STRATFI will deliver a network of at least four, fully functional, accredited, connected, secure facilities for the DAF and DIB. This STRATFI will expand on the initial concept of CIaaS by identifying, experimenting with, prototyping, and integrating advanced hardware and software technologies. It will also expand novel operating processes and methodologies and deepen research into underlying policy and legal issues that hinder scaling or implementation. Subsequently, it will then implement these new technologies, acquired knowledge, and proven methodologies into a network of secure, geographically distributed facilities available for sustained DAF and DIB use as we look to scale this offering to dozens of sites in the near term. Using the network of CIaaS facilities as an operational and prototypical backdrop, we will focus on measures to significantly mitigate insider threat risk, prevent the inadvertent removal of classified material, restrict the entry of unauthorized devices, and provide comprehensive auditing and reporting data to better identify unauthorized or inappropriate behaviors (Reality Gap 1). We will also integrate these technologies to increase speed, reduce costs, and enhance compliance during various phases of the classified-program lifecycle beyond directly accessing physical spaces (Reality Gap 2). “Nooks Shield” is our company’s technology platform designed to prototype and integrate hardware and software technology solutions addressing Reality Gap 1. This R&D effort involves collaborating with government sponsors and cognizant authorizing officials to prototype, test, evaluate, and validate these technologies in operationally relevant environments, such as CIaaS facilities. “Nooks Speed” comprises a set of software solutions aimed at addressing Reality Gap 2. This initiative focuses on developing and prototyping software technologies that significantly improve speed throughout the industry classified-program lifecycle, reduce overall costs, and provide greater standardization.
